
Vice President Cipcosa Paulus Machatair will undertake an official visit to the Republic of France for the South African and France Investment Conference from May 19-24, 2025. The visit aims to strengthen relations between the two countries and, most importantly, mobilize investments to realize the country's economic growth and transformation objectives.
South Africa and France enjoy heartfelt relationships supported by robust bilateral cooperation programs in areas such as political dialogue, defense, science and technology, energy cooperation, education and skills development, and health, transportation, arts and culture.
The investment conference will be held under the theme of “SA-France: A Partnership for Mutual Prosperity_” with the aim of attracting financial resources focused on key issues such as foreign direct investment (FDI), public-private partnerships (PPPs), and poverty, inequality, climate change and transition in the digital economy.
The conference will focus on eight major sectors, namely eight major sectors, including energy, infrastructure, transportation and logistics, finance, tourism, agriculture and agricultural processing, mining and information and communication technology (ICT). There is also a BreakAway Group, which explores practical steps for projects and investments in these areas.
Additionally, the conference will consist of a high-level segment of government officials leading thematic debate related to South Africa's investment opportunities, policy and the investment environment.
The Vice President is expected to hold a bilateral meeting with his counterpart, French Republic Prime Minister François Bailloux.
