Johannesburg – Hyatt (www.hyatt.com) announced that Hyatt expects to grow around 50% of its room in new and existing African markets by the end of 2030.
Over the past two years, Hyatt has seen a 51% room growth in Africa, driven by the addition of several milestone properties and the first brand entry.
These included Park Hyatt Marrakech, which introduces luxury brands to Morocco. The brand debuted on the continent, Cairo West, centered in Hyatt. Hyatt Regency Harare – Mikeless, Hyatt's first hotel in Zimbabwe. The Hyatt Regency Nairobi Westlands is the first hotel in Kenya.
Most recently, in March 2025, Hyatt Place Nairobi Westlands and Hyatt House Nairobi Westlands opened along Lower Cabate Road.
This marks the development of Hyatt's first dual brand in Africa and offers two different stay experiences under the roof just a few minutes from Westgate Mall, Nairobi National Museum and Carla Forest.

Over the next two years, the Hyatt Hotel will debut in new markets within the region, including the expected opening of Nigeria's Hyatt Regency Lago Suikeja.
Additionally, following a major renovation of the Winston Hotel, the launch of Park Hyatt Johannesburg is set to begin later this year.
The luxurious property includes 31 rooms, and is popular with business and leisure guests, offering highly personalized, intuitive, fully engaged services for a sophisticated home in modest luxury and sophisticated homes.
