JOHANNESBURG – Air Europa’s first flight between Madrid, Spain and Johannesburg, South Africa will launch tomorrow, Wednesday 24 June 2026.
The first flight will depart from Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport in Spain at 23:45 and arrive at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg at 09:50 on Thursday 25 June 2026.
Air Europa's new service will be the airline's first route to sub-Saharan Africa and is part of the airline's broader African expansion strategy.
The route will be operated three times a week using the state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner, providing improved passenger comfort, operational efficiency and connectivity.
The move marks an important milestone in strengthening tourism, trade and cultural links between Southern Africa, Europe and Latin America.
