Johannesburg – Media and Broadcasting Network Carrier Indaba has announced the appointment of a 20-member Strategic Advisory Committee.

The network, dedicated to fostering key conversations to identify practical solutions to employment, skill development and labor market challenges, said the board's appointment came into effect in July 2025.

The newly formed advisory committee was officially launched at its first onboarding session held on July 11, 2025, jointly promoted by the South African Board of Directors (IODSA).

The Board will play a pivotal role in Indava's strategic direction, thought leadership, strengthening governance framework and stakeholder engagement, policy positioning, innovation in labor market solutions, growth of partnerships, and supporting Career Indava's flagship initiatives.

These initiatives include Career Indaba Expo & Bootcamp on September 12th and 13th, 2025, Career Indaba Radio, and digital media platforms for the next five years, and are obliged to serve until June 2030.

The Strategic Advisory Board is designed to enhance the impact of careers as cross-sector and multi-stakeholder convener who drive employment, skill development and labor market solutions on the continent with deep expertise across business, education, labour, policy, technology, youth development and youth development.

Meet the advisory committee and four established committees

To ensure focused monitoring and delivery, the advisory committee has established four strategic committees, chaired by Robin Baroi and Vice-Chairman Kadija Dangour.

1. Labor, Employment and Skills Committee: Focuses on the future of policy, labor market intelligence, skill development, and job trends.

2. Strategy, Financial and Audit Committee: Provides oversight on financial strategy, funding, governance compliance, and risk management.

3. Youth, Entrepreneurship, Innovation & M&E Committee

The impact and outcomes of Champion's youth-led initiatives, digital transformation, and monitoring programs.

4. Strategic Partnerships, Programmes and Financing Committee

It promotes multi-sector partnerships, resource mobilization, and coordination of programs to national and continental agendas.
