Johannesburg – Cassava Technologies (www.cassavatechnologies.com), Pan Africa Technology Company, has launched a South Africa-focused community engagement initiative in a strategic collaboration with Microsoft.
Through this initiative, the two organizations will establish a training hub for youth in the community that will help promote employment opportunities for the renewable energy industry.
By prioritizing renewable energy skills development, energy efficiency, and community microgrids, this initiative will enable the next generation to lead the transition to clean energy.
The activities will be focused in Johannesburg and Cape Town, run by Cassava and Microsoft.
The project's training hub will equip African women and young people with the skills needed to thrive in the renewable energy industry, and play a key role in ensuring that the benefits of the energy transition are realized by everyone.
Cassava Technologies will become a key player in this collaboration through renewable energy companies and joint residential companies.
Their local renewable energy expertise ensures that this initiative will provide the communities involved with specific benefits related to clean energy jobs and projects.
Through this initiative, Cassava and Microsoft are supporting community engagement and sustainable development across the region and continent laying the foundation for expansion into other African markets.
Finhai Munzara, Chief Corporate Development Director at Cassava Technologies, said: “We are honored to work with Microsoft on this project.
“By leveraging our technical expertise, ground experience and Microsoft's global reach, we are poised to have a lasting and positive impact on our South African community.”
“We are pleased to work with Cassava to support South Africa's climate initiatives, strengthen our communities and ensure that all of us have the tools to thrive,” said Markus Swart, director of data centre operations for South Africa.
