MOSCOW – For two years, a woman has been operating the train on the 15th row of the Moscow Metro.
Women's return to train driver professions was made possible in January 2021, and today the train runs not only on line 15, but on 4/4A and one line.
“In 2020, with the participation of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobianin and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, we have achieved the return of women to the occupation of electric train drivers.
“Today, about 140 women train drivers, whose assistants run trains on three metro lines.
“Over 20% of them work on line 15.”
Reverting women to the profession of train drivers was an important step in ensuring equal opportunities for women in Moscow's transportation sector and expanding the horizons of experts.
