JOHANNESBURG – The 2024 Ford Ranger Bucky was recalled of safety concerns regarding the lower front control arm that could have been mistakenly equipped.

On Thursday (May 22, 2025), the National Consumer Commission (NCC) said that the recalled Ford Ranger Light commercial vehicle is now available for sale in 2024.

“The Ford Motor Company in South Africa has notified the NCC that the recall is due to a front control arm that may be mounted on the left side of the vehicle instead of the correct front lower control arm,” the customer committee said.

“Arthopedic separation can result in loss of control of the affected wheels and increases the effectiveness of handling the vehicle.

“This can increase the risk of crashes and injuries.”

The NCC said these vehicles were distributed nationwide and exported to Namibia, Botswana and Swaziland.

“Consumers should contact the nearest authorized dealer for a booking to repair defects,” the NCC said.
