New cutting edge TUT FM and TSHWANE FM Studios unveiled in Pretoria

Pretoria – President Kenny Morrolon's vice minister and the Committee on Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA) have announced Pretoria's new cutting edge TUT FM and Tshwane FM Studios.

In his keynote speech released on Friday, August 8, 2025, Deputy Minister Mororon said the digitalized studio was funded by the MDDA as part of its obligation to support Garten and community media across the country.

TUT FM 96.2 is a community radio station based at Tshwane Institute of Technology's Soshanguve South Campus, broadcast within a 50km radius and has a listenership of 61 000.

The station targets youth between the ages of 15 and 35 and will air in six languages including English, Setswana, Cedipedi, Ishizuru, Tsevenda and Xitsonga.

Tshwane FM is the official student radio station of Tshwane University and is broadcast on Tshwane, Atteridgeville, Laudium, Mamelodi, Mencurion, Midrand and some 50km radios in northern Johannesburg at 93.6 FM frequency.
