JOHANNESBURG – The National Consumer Commission (NCC) has warned consumers about a recall of some SPAR yoghurt products after being notified by SPAR.

This recall affects the following products: SPAR Fat-Free Yogurt, Low-Fat Yogurt, Double Cream Yogurt, Indulge Double Cream Yogurt, and SPAR Active Drink Yogurt.

According to the NCC, the sell-by date for affected products is August 9, 2026, and the use-by date is August 12, 2026.

These products were sold nationwide through SPAR stores starting June 15, 2026.

SPAR informed NCC that the cause of the recall was a machine failure during production, which resulted in product damage.

“This may result in changes to the taste, odor or appearance of the product. Ingestion of the affected product may cause stomach upset,” the NCC said.

“Consumers who have purchased the affected products should not consume them.

“We recommend returning your product to your local SPAR store for a full refund or replacement.”

The NCC urged all consumers to promptly respond to product safety recalls.
