Johannesburg – Sizekhaya Holdings is recognized by South Africa's Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition with the 4th National Lottery and Sports Pool License.
The 8-year license is expected to begin by June 1, 2026, marking a key milestone for the consortium.
Goldrush Group, whose company holds a 59.4% stake, is a 50% shareholder of Sizekhaya.
However, in accordance with regulatory requirements, Sizekhaya will issue shares to government agencies and reduce Goldrush's shares to 40%.
As a new operator, Sizekhaya will oversee lottery ticket sales, prize payments and donations to the National Lotteries Distribution Trust Fund (NLDTF). It ensures that funds support legitimate causes across South Africa.
Sizekhaya's choice, meaning “We're back home,” reflects the expertise of Goldrush's management team and its global partner Genlot, the leader of the lottery business.
This announcement has lifted the notice issued on May 8, 2025, allowing regular trading of the company's securities.
The move places Sizekhaya as a key player in the South African gaming sector and promises innovation, transparency and social impact from the National Lottery.
