What is the background behind your business/career?
The Impenduloyezwe project was born from both divine inspiration and a strong foundation of project management, mining and construction. In 2021, I registered the company with the belief that God gave me both a vision and a name. This means “national answer.” With a background in business and digital technology and over a decade of hands-on experience in the mining sector, I have brought together a talented team and founded a company focused on excellence and impact. Our growth is driven by strategic planning, faith and invaluable guidance, and we have challenged ourselves to grow as business leaders.
How was Impenduloyezwe formed?
Impenduloyezwe's vision was rooted in purpose. I was spiritually inspired, but I was actually equipped through many years of industry experience. My mentors played a pivotal role in shaping my leadership and instilling the importance of discipline, planning and execution. He introduced me to a strategic network, met deadlines, and taught me the value of supporting integrity in business. These influences, coupled with a desire to build something transformative, laid the foundation.
What was the most challenging aspect of starting a business?
One of the biggest hurdles was establishing himself as a trusted CEO, especially after being known for many years as a project manager. Despite my experience, I had to develop new relationships and prove myself to my stakeholders. Access to funding was another challenge, especially in an industry that requires large upfront investments in equipment and operations. Even after securing the funds, converting it into contracts and long-term opportunities required persistence, resilience and unwavering belief in vision.

Our drilling services have been an outstanding area of growth. We have built a reputation for efficiency and reliability, and in many cases we exceed our performance goals. This has repeated business and strong references from major mining clients. Our work in various mines has been praised for its efficiency and has developed lasting relationships through our ability to meet and exceed client expectations.
How is the mining sector working?
Mpumalanga offers robust opportunities. The coal sector alone is a major contributor to the local and national economy. Mining is creating platforms for local businesses to thrive, particularly through the Enterprise Supplier Development (ESD) program. We see an opportunity-filled future and position ourselves to meet that demand.
How many staff do you employ and do they have opportunities to grow?
We currently employ 15 staff. Empowering our team is part of our mission. Over 20 years of industry experience in leadership provides an environment that drives learning, teaching and professional growth. We aim to develop not only employees but also future leaders.
Where are you currently operating?
Our business is currently based in Mpumalanga with plans underway to expand to Limpopo and the northwest province. We have developed a strategic plan to build a national footprint and become a leader in mining support and infrastructure development. Our growth is not only measured by revenue and contracts, but also reflected in the number of jobs we create as a company rooted in purpose, services and excellence, the work we create, and the legacy we build.
