Johannesburg – The National Lotteries Commission (NLC) has announced an extension of the deadline to apply to run the lottery.
The current operator, Isaba, license will end on May 31, 2025.
In a brief statement available to Bulrushes on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 (March 25, 2025), NLC has announced an extension of the deadline for funding applications for the 2024/25 application request.
“The deadline will be moved from March 31, 2025 to May 16, 2025, allowing more time for future applicants to complete their submissions,” the statement said.
This extension is granted due to several factors, including:
A significant increase in civil society organizations visiting NLC offices nationwide. A backlog that updates applicant information regarding the Ministry of Social Development (DSD) portal. We received a large number of inquiries through NLC's contact centres and social media platforms. Many applicants still need assistance at NLC Help Desk sessions nationwide.
NLC Commissioner Jody Scholz urged all stakeholders to use this extension to update their organization's profile at the Department of Social Development (DSD) before submitting their applications, and submitting their applications as soon as possible, rather than waiting for the final deadline.
NLC said there is no further extension to the 2024/25 application call, exceeding the May 16, 2025 deadline.
All interested organizations must complete their applications by this date, the NLC said.
