Johannessburg – After the launch of the All-Electric EX90 seven-seater, Volvo Car South Africa (VCSA) is reiterating its commitment to the local market with the announcement of four electrified vehicles scheduled to arrive over the coming months.
Under the leadership of newly appointed Managing Director Grant Lock, VCSA is accelerating its electrification program locally, reaffirming that South Africa remains a key part of its global vision.
“Our focus is clear. We are committed to making South African drivers more choices about moving to electric driving,” says Grantlock, VCSA managing director.
“These new vehicles, combined with our continued investment in local operations and services, highlight the fact that we will remain here and grow.”
Volvo Ex30 Cross Country
New product rollouts will begin in the third quarter and introduce the Volvo EX30 Cross Country.
Based on the award-winning EX30 Electric SUV, Cross Country has successfully achieved enhanced ability to add sturdy edges to the popular EX30, increased ground clearance and enhanced model-specific styling.
True to the spirit of the iconic cross-country nameplate first introduced in the XC70, the EX30 CC combines core Volvo values such as comfort, practicality and safety with more adventurous characters.
With a WLTP estimated range of 427 km, the Ex30 CC offers the freedom to venture across cities without compromising sustainability.
Whether you're on a weekend escape or on a beaten path, the Ex30 CC allows explorers to enjoy nature without leaving a mark.
Volvo XC60 and XC90
In the spring, the updated XC60 and XC90 will be introduced. Both models, unveiled in recent months, feature redesigned front and rear fascia, new grilles, updated wheels and other subtle improvements.
Inside, you'll get Volvo's latest 11.2-inch freestand touchscreen. This is bigger than before, offering and clarifying a sharp pixel density of 21%, so the brand's new UX debuted with the EX30 and most recently with the EX90.
Backed by a faster and more responsive infotainment system, the refresh cabin also introduces new materials, colors and comfortable features, further enhancing Volvo's most successful SUV.
Locally, both models are offered with the choice of mild hybrid (MHEV) and plug-in hybrid (recharged) powertrains.
Volvo ES90
In early 2026, the ES90 arrives as part of Volvo's ongoing electrification journey.
A blend of the elegance of a sedan, the versatility of a fastback, and the widest SUV, the ES90 introduces a new dimension of all-electric mobility.
Built on the advanced SPA2 architecture that underpins the EX90 and powered by the next generation of core computing, the ES90 offers a superior WLTP estimation range of 700 km, along with class-leading safety systems (including LIDAR and Volvo's latest driver understanding technology).
Inside, the ES90 offers an immersive Bowers & Wilkins Sound System with premium materials, a luxurious, spacious cabin with cutting-edge Google-powered infotainment, and Dolby Atmos.
Other luxury such as panoramic roofing and advanced air purification creates a mobile sanctuary for drivers and passengers.
